Kitchen Supervisor

Location: Islington (N7 8XH) or Putney (SW15 1LY)

Pay: £13–£16/hr

Chooks is an independent kitchen bringing our love of Aussie & Kiwi-style rotisserie chicken, salads, and sides to London. We started with our first location in Islington and have since opened a new store in Putney. We primarily operate on the main delivery platforms (Deliveroo and Uber Eats), along with in-person pickups and in-store seating launching soon in Putney.

We’re a small, fast-growing team with big ambitions, and we’re looking for someone who wants to grow with us and help shape the journey.

Right now, we’re looking for a Kitchen Supervisor for each of our kitchens—someone proactive, reliable, and ready to take ownership of their branch. This isn’t a head-down, follow-the-rules kind of job. We want someone who can keep things running smoothly, support and lead the team, and help us build something special.

About the Role

You’ll be fully hands-on, responsible for keeping the kitchen running smoothly. That includes:

  • Managing prep, stock rotation, inventory, and ordering

  • Cooking and assembling orders—on your own or with one or two others

  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, food safety and presentation

  • Have input on our menu—simple, flavour-forward, and always improving

  • Customer Interaction – While we’re just a cloud kitchen, we do get locals dropping by. You’ll take orders at the door, handle payments, and keep things welcoming, tidy and the good vibes flowing.

About You

  • Natural leader – You don’t need to have run a kitchen before, but you know how to take the lead, stay accountable, and set the tone for others.

  • Organised & level-headed – You stay calm during a rush and can juggle priorities without losing your marbles.

  • Self-sufficient – You’re comfortable working solo and taking full ownership of a shift

  • Happy to get stuck in – You get involved wherever you’re needed. Whether that’s jumping on the line, dealing with customers, or tidying up and tackling the dirty dishes.

  • Team-focused – You know that running a great kitchen is about building a solid, respectful team environment.

  • Food-first but not fussy – Culinary skills are a plus, but we’re not looking for fine dining. If you're into clean, honest cooking, you’ll fit right in.

  • Growth-oriented – You’re interested in more than just clocking in; you want to help a business grow and grow with it.

Nice to Haves

  • Experience working with delivery platforms like Deliveroo, Just Eat, or Uber Eats.

  • Cert 2 in Food Safety & Hygiene (or willingness to get it—we’ll help you out).

  • Familiarity with stock management and food cost control.

Pay, Perks & Hours

  • Real Input – Be part of shaping the business and evolving the menu.

  • £13–£16/hr depending on experience.

  • Flexible and fair hours – We’re still growing so there’s space for flexibility based on team availability, prep required, and our opening hours increasing—typically though we’re talking evening and weekend shifts, approx. 40 hours/week, 5 days/week.

Sound like your kind of gig?

We’d love to hear from you. Send your CV to hello@chooksldn.co.uk or just drop us a message on Instagram.

Cheers,
The Chooks Team
